Cosmetic dentistry – Your smile can be one of the most eye-catching features on your face. Thanks to advances in dental techniques and technologies, Dr. James can help you attain the smile that you have always wanted! There are many cosmetic techniques that will help you achieve this such as teeth whitening, bonding, veneers, enamel shaping and braces.
Teeth whitening, or bleaching, brightens teeth that are stained or discolored. Dr. James offers two bleaching procedures; one which is in office, the other a bleaching option that can be done at home. For in the office bleaching, Dr. James offers the ZOOM! Professional Whitening System. This procedure usually just takes a little over an hour to complete, and is ideal for anyone looking for immediate results.
Dr. James also includes a set of custom take-home bleaching trays for touch ups in the future following ZOOM! For more information on the ZOOM! system, please call our office, or visit www.zoomnow.com.
Dr. James also makes custom take-home bleaching trays, but it can take many more hours of wearing bleaching trays to get to a desired shade.
Bonding can improve the appearance of teeth, which are chipped, cracked, broken, stained, or misaligned. This procedure involves rebuilding the tooth structure by applying, or bonding, a tooth colored material to the tooth surface.
Veneers are custom made tooth-shaped shells designed to cover the front side of teeth. Generally they are made out of a tooth colored porcelain or ceramic material. Veneers are used to treat spaces between the teeth or teeth that are chipped, worn, permanently discolored or poorly shaped.
Often combined with bonding, enamel shaping involves modifying teeth by removing or contouring enamel.
Braces, or orthodontics, may be needed for teeth that are crooked, crowded, or do not meet properly. Orthodontics cannot only help to create a beautiful smile, but also helps to create a healthier mouth. Remember, children are not the only ones that can benefit from braces. If you are an adult it is not too late to correct the problems caused by crooked or crowded teeth. No matter what your age, it is never too late to improve your dental health and help get the smile that you have always wanted!
